COALVILLE – Leola McGee Ball Rees, 1933-2014, 81, died at her home in Coalville, Utah surrounded by family on June 12, 2014 from complications of mesothelioma. She was born June 3, 1933 in Draper, Utah to Ross and Elsie Gifford McGee. She married William Roger Ball in 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Three daughters were born to them. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She graduated from North Summit High School. Lee, as she was known, worked as a bank officer for 30 years. Her greatest joy and accomplishment however, was raising her three daughters. Lee married Elwin (Pink) Rees on July 7, 1992. They shared 22 years together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, hard worker, an immaculate homemaker, and a dignified woman. Lee loved keeping and maintaining her home and yard. She enjoyed sewing for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Pink Rees, (Hoytsville), three daughters: Connie Rose (Michael) CA; Mary Karren (Cless) MT; and Diane Breen (Curtis) Sandy; four step children: Susan Perkins, Logan; Brenda Rees, Salt Lake; Jeannie (Grant) Williams, CA; and Bart (Roseanna) Hoytsville; four siblings: Irene Despain, St. George; Lloyd McGee( Marna), Brigham City; Colleen Maynes (Fred), Granite; Myrna Smith (Kale), American Fork; also, 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Lee touched the lives of many. The world is a better place because she lived.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 6-8 PM and also on June 18, 2014 at 10:45 – 11:45 AM at the Hoytsville LDS Chapel, 1095 S. Hoytsville Rd. Funeral services will be held at same location on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 beginning at noon with interment following at the Coalville Cemetery.
