Lois (Flo) Rose Kennedy Powell

This old world got a little bit more than it could handle on May 27, 1938, when I decided to join the party, and what a party it was.  This old world became a little less fun on March 7, 2022, when I chose to leave it.

I was born to Joseph and Ellen Peterson Kennedy in Loa, Utah nearly 84 years ago.  I was hitched a couple of times, first was to Richard B Riches in 1957 (divorced), and my last adventure into marital  bliss was to George Keith Powell in 1967 (divorced), boy was that a wild ride!

I raised three yahoos of my own, Joel Riches (Robin) , Lisa Terkelson , and Tina Powell.  With kids came grandkids, of which I have three, Codie Jo Leininger, Justin Riches, and Daniele Terkelson.   And with grandkids came great grandkids, of which I have five, Cali, Noel, Luke, Ryan and Reese.   I lost a brother, Loren, and two grandkids, Amanda and Afton.

I enjoyed the most amazing circle of friends, you Bonco Babes know who you are!  Each and every one of you had your own experience with me.  We had some real good times, from Bonco nights to Vegas trips, to movie nights  and margaritas, you made this ol’ gal a happy gal.

I worked most of my life in finance, always crunching those numbers.

I can’t leave without expressing my undying love for my best friend and youngest daughter Tina.  She was by my side through it all.  As my health began to show signs of wear and tear, she cared for me, took care of my needs. She looked out for me  and loved me unconditionally, even though I could be a real pain in the ass.

So in the end, I played by my own rules, regrets ? sure I had a few, there were times I bit off more than I could chew, but anyone who knew me knows that through it all, I did it my way. Nothing traditional about ol’ Flo

There has been a final party planned in my remembrance for March 12,2022 at 2:00 pm at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan City Utah 45 West 200 North.  Come see me an hour before if you want at 1:00 pm.  Let’s all have some popcorn and a diet coke together before I take my next big adventure.  Love Flo
