Louise Judd

September 14, 1934 — October 22, 2017

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Gladys Louise Brown Judd, left this earthly life on October 22, 2017, at the age of 83.

Louise was born September 14, 1934, to John Parley Brown and Vera Bisel Brown in Hoytsville, Utah.  Louise always treasured her childhood and youth with her eight siblings on their family dairy farm in Hoytsville, Utah.  She was active in high school, played the clarinet in the band, and competed in debate and 4-H.  She graduated from North Summit High School in 1952.

Louise married the most handsome sheep rancher in town.  Louise and Donald Marchant Judd were married June 22, 1953, in the Salt Lake Temple.  For forty years Louise and Donald worked side by side on their ranch.  It was a fairy tale life for her.  They served two LDS church missions, both in the Philippines.  They raised two daughters, Kathy and Colleen.  They loved their Philippine daughter, Emma.  Louise was an expert homemaker, enjoying sewing, baking, working in her yard, and hosting family parties.  She served her community and church in various capacities.  Louise will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love and service will live on in the lives of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Donald, daughter Kathy and Tom Chappell, Wanship, daughter Emma and Derrick Higley, Salt Lake City, as well as nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Colleen, siblings Pauline Crittenden, MarGene Durrant, and Sherman Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Hoytsville, Utah LDS Meetinghouse.  Friends may visit with family at the viewing on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., and from 9:45 to 10:45 A.M. Friday, also at the Hoytsville LDS Meetinghouse.

Interment will be at the Hoytsville cemetery.
