Louise Bowen

Louise Vernon Bowen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully November 11, 2008 surrounded by her family at the Elk Meadows Assisted Living Center in Oakley, Utah.

She was born November 19, 1925 in Rockport, Utah to Nathanial Lloyd and Velletta Mills Vernon.

Louise married Lafe Bowen on October 27, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends.

She spent her early years on the family farm in Rockport, and later moved to Coalville where she resided for many years. She devoted much of her life to caring for her mother and brother. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served faithfully in many callings. Her home and yard were always meticulously kept, and her yard was ornately decorated for every holiday.

Louise is survived by her husband, Lafe; children, Stefan (Geniel), and LuAnn Wilson (Roger); six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and sister, Leila Siddoway. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Weldon and Lindon Vernon.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14th at 12:00 Noon at the Hoytsville Church (1095 So. Hoytsville Rd., Coalville, Utah). Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10:45 to11:45 a.m. at the Hoytsville Church.

Interment, Wanship Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Utah Chapter of the Alzheimers Associaiton (www.alz.org/utah). The family would like to thank Alpine Home Care and Hospice, particularly Marcene and Lynn; and the employees at Elk Meadows Assisted Living Center for their kindness and dedicated care.
