On December 12, 2018 Lucinda Carter Andersen passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, after her six-year battle with breast cancer. She was born to Connie and Vernal Carter on November 29, 1959. She was raised in Porterville, Utah with her four brothers and sister and worked on her dad’s farm. Lucinda graduated from Morgan High School and then went on to get a degree from Stevens Henagar College. She met her sweetheart Denny Andersen. They were married on May 7, 1982 in the Ogden, Utah temple. They had four children Justin, Byron, Danielle and Cameron.
Lucinda was a hard and dedicated worker and spent her life in the service of others. She worked at SOCFM clinic and later was the head secretary at Morgan Middle School. Her favorite job was being a mom. She was a strong supporter to her children and it was rare that she missed any sporting event, youth activity, or anything that her kids were involved in. She had a great love for Disneyland and anything Mickey Mouse. Lucinda loved the Gospel and serving and was a faithful member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved watching her family grow, from her daughters-in-law to grandbabies, they brought so much joy to her life. She had such an outgoing personality and was easy to gravitate to. She had an infectious laugh that will be remembered by everyone.
The family would like to thank all the nurses that have helped her stay strong the past six years at Dr. Carl Gray’s Oncology office. Also, the wonderful hospice nurses that helped to keep her comfortable in her final days as well as her neighbors, ward, family and friends for their unwavering love, service and support. She is a very blessed woman.
Lucinda is survived by her husband Denny Andersen, her children, Byron (Katie); Danielle; Cameron (Cherie); grandchildren Brayden and Ivy Jackson, and Atreyu Andersen. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Vernal and Connie Carter, as well as her beloved son Justin Andersen.
