Marion Morgan Spackman, age 94, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Aspen Care Assisted Living in Ogden, Utah from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Marion was born October 16, 1919 in Idaho. He was one of eleven children born to Marion Leander Spackman and Mary Louise Morgan. He grew up in Layton, Utah.
He married Theone France July 12, 1950.
Marion had various jobs in his life. He drove logging trucks in Colorado; he worked in the shipyards in Tacoma, Washington; he helped at his uncle’s Turkey Farm; h was a plumber’s helper; and he was a backyard mechanic. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1950 to 1981.
He was a member of the LDS Church, Peterson Ward.
Marion is survived by his wife Theone; their daughter, Shirley Howard; one sister, Ruth Andrews; their grandchildren: Jody Lynn Gilbreath, Bryan Ball, Paul Howard, Matthew Howard, and Andrew Howard; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held April 17, 2014 at 11 am at Walker Mortuary (45 W. 200 N. Morgan, UT). A visitation will take place prior to the services from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Interment will be at the South Morgan Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Aspen Care and Envision Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care. We are eternally grateful and can’t adequately express how thankful we are for the kindness, care and help from all the neighbors, especially Dean and Patsy Duncan. Also, thank you to Paul Dickson for keeping Dad neat and trimmed.
