MARJORIE WALDRON ROGERS

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marjorie peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 12, 2008, surrounded by her entire family, following complications from pneumonia.

We are comforted knowing she is now embracing her precious son, David, whom she has dearly missed for 34 years.

Marjorie was born to Newell Thomas and Goldie Sargent Waldron on April 13, 1924, in Morgan, Utah. On June 3, 1946 she married Thane Park Rogers in the Salt Lake Temple. They have lived in Bountiful, Utah, Morgan, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada, Portland, Oregon, Omaha, Nebraska, St. George, Utah and South Ogden, Utah.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and throughout her life time held various teaching positions in the Sunday School, M.I.A., and Relief Society. When she lived in Omaha, she served in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. She and her husband also enjoyed serving as temple workers in the Ogden Temple for many years.

After graduation from Morgan High School, Marjorie began her career at the First Security Bank in Ogden, Utah, and later worked in other banks in Ogden, Salt Lake, and Bountiful, Utah. While living in Morgan, she served as Clerk of Morgan City, and was later elected Morgan County Clerk. She was the office manager at 4-D West, and worked at Associated Pipe Company in Clearfield.

Marjorie loved politics and was a delegate to State Conventions numerous times. She began every morning reading at least two newspapers from front to back, and often read the Wall Street Journal. She loved to share with her family something new she had learned in the papers, and would often cut out articles, or cartoons of particular interest, and send them to loved ones.

Surviving are her husband Thane, South Ogden, daughter, Mrs. Rodney (Barbara) Spencer, Morgan, four grandchildren and two in-law grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Mrs. Travis (Jill) Hildebrand, Ogden, Cristopher (Sadie) Spencer, Cedar City, R. J. Spencer, Morgan, and Mike Spencer, St. George. She also adored her five great grandchildren, Spencer, Kyson, and Jace Hildebrand, and McKrae and Ainslee Spencer. She cherished every moment with her family, and they will truly miss her quick wit and her loving advice. She is also survived by a brother, L. Kay Waldron, Arkansas

Marjorie was preceded in death by a son, David Thomas Rogers, her parents, and four sisters, Athleen Jensen, Jean Jones, Ruth Waldron and Barbara Waldron.

Her entire family would like to thank the staff at McKay Dee Hospital for the tender loving care they took of her, especially in her final hours.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Walker Mortuary in Morgan. Friends may call at the mortuary prior to the services from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Interment at the South Morgan Cemetery.
