Our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, Max "Mick" Preece passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009, while removing snow with his tractor.
Mick was born at home in Stoddard, Utah on Sept. 3, 1939, to Lloyd Edward and Larene Morris Preece. He was the youngest of their 5 children. Mick was raised in Morgan and attended Morgan Schools where he played basketball and football for Morgan High. He attended Southern Utah State College for a time and served in the US Navy for 4 years during the Viet Nam war. He worked for the IRS for 34 years, retiring in 1993.
Mick married Linda Lee Erickson in Morgan, Utah on April 11, 1964. They had three children, Stephanie Lynn Ball (Bill Jr.), of Malad ID, Ronald Eric Preece (Noelle), of Prince George VA, Randy Kent Preece, of Morgan, UT.
Mick enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard, which always was well groomed. He loved going to Wendover and taking his motor home south in winter to escape the cold. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Mick is survived by his wife Linda, his children, 7 grandchildren; Jason Ball, Coby Ball, Shanna Preece, Tyler Preece, Samantha Preece, Troy Preece, Mathew Preece, and 4 great grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters Shirley Haws (Max) and June Callahan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Edward Lloyd and one sister Gertie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at 12 noon in the Milton/Stoddard Ward Chapel, 1255 N. Morgan Valley Drive, Milton. Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.
Interment, North Morgan Cemetery.
