Merilyn Smith

Our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Merilyn Donna Evans Smith, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas.

Merilyn was born March 8, 1965, to Wendell Evans and Donna Miles Evans in Coalville, Utah, where she later graduated from North Summit High School.  Merilyn was the most kind-hearted soul with a heart of gold.  She enjoyed serving in many callings as a member of the LDS Church.  She loved children, especially her own, and animals, and was happily married to the love of her life, Rick.  Merilyn was a friend to everyone she met.

She is survived by her doting husband, Rick Smith; daughters Kristy (Levon) Katsakhyan, and Katie; sons Kody Thompson, Tyler (Mailee) Thompson, and Kaegan; and new grandson Jameson Thompson.  She is also survived by her parents, Wendell and Donna Evans; brothers Russell (Donna) Evans, Miles (Connie) Evans and Dean (Joy) Evans; sisters Denise (Gib) Yardley and Linda (Bill) Wilde; along with many adoring nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Thompson.

A special thanks to her LDS ward family in San Antonio, Texas, for all their love and support.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoytsville LDS chapel, 1095 S. Hoytsville Road. A viewing will be held at the same location, Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at Minersville Town Cemetery, Minersville, Utah .
