Michael Keith Munsee was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on May 12, 1952 to Grace LaRee Grover and Glen Keith Munsee. He passed away peacefully in Ogden, Utah, on October 28, 2023.
Mike spent his early years learning the value of hard work as he worked alongside his dad on the family ranch. He spent many summers tending to sheep and cattle in the Idaho mountains and learned to speak fluent Spanish while working with fellow sheepherders.
Mike graduated from Valley High School in 1970 and attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He had a brief marriage to Sheryl Westbrook. He later met and married Dixie Lee Eldredge in the Salt Lake City Temple on January 11, 1979. They settled in Hagerman, Idaho, where he worked on a farming project in Bell Rapids, Idaho, with some of his closest friends until selling and moving to Utah in 1984.
He started a restaurant business; one of his many entrepreneurial endeavors, before establishing his trucking company, MAG Transport. He eventually sold this business and established Rocky Mountain Truck Parts in 1999. He was a hard worker and enjoyed those he worked with and the many customers he met who frequented his business. He looked forward to his company Christmas party each year, and fulfilled his dying wish of working until the very end.
Mike enjoyed spending time with family and felt it important to teach his children the importance of work by including them in the family business. Memories were made on family road trips and trips to the sand dunes. He shared his love of music by taking family and friends to concerts to experience his favorite singers and bands. He was always looking for opportunities to serve those in need.
Mike was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in several callings over the course of his life. Some of his greatest memories were during the years he spent serving as a bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie; children, Ryan (Nancy) Merritt, Anica (Aaron) DeHart, Michelle (Ben) Hokanson, Nick (Lundi) Munsee and Matt (Lori) Munsee. Grandchildren, Kelsy, Emily, Izzy, Claire, Isaac, Grant, Jude, Mila, Naomi, Tucker, Charlotte and Eliza. His sisters, Chris Hall and Susie Munsee; and his brother, Mark (Amy) Munsee.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother-in-law, Steve Andreason.
