Neil Keith Carrigan was born on July 11, 1944 and passed away on June 24, 2018. He is the second child of Albert Randall Carrigan and Ruby Rawle Little. Neil was affectionately referred by all his siblings as being “the best brother.” He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ruby and his in-laws Dr Odell and Ellen Cutler. He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years Christine Cutler Carrigan, his seven children, April Thompson, Kristopher (Tracy) Carrigan, Ashlee (David) Harris, Cameron (Lindsey) Carrigan, Amber Goodwin, Cole (Megan) Carrigan, Kerry Carrigan, nineteen adoring grandchildren, and his siblings Ann (Paul) Miller, Kay (Stan) Hoellein, Steve (Suzanne) Carrigan, Scott (Jan) Carrigan, and Diane (Dan) Dickson.
Neil was a life-long resident of Morgan, UT attending Morgan High School. He was heavily involved in sports, drama, and student government. Following high school, he continued his education at BYU, graduating with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in coaching. Neil began his career in Randolph before returning home to Morgan to teach Mathematics. He served in public education for 40 years as a teacher and coach while operating a landscaping business on the side.
In addition to being a public educator, he was actively involved in the community. He served on the city council and school board, worked as an EMT and volunteer firefighter, and served the youth of Morgan for many years as county recreation director.
Neil was known for his quick wit, self-less service, and devotion to his LDS faith. Along with his wife, he served three LDS missions -- Inner City Ogden and the LDS Conference Center. Neil also served four years as an ordinance worker at the Ogden Utah Temple. Those who knew him best knew he loved and adored children, especially his grandkids. He said, “Grandkids were always welcome, parents by appointment.”
Neil left this earth dedicated to his faith, family, and BYU Cougars. Go Cougars!
