On October 14, 1929 Peggy Ann Williams was born at the family home in Morgan Utah to Daniel Oliver and Ansta Irene Williams. The baby of the family she was doted upon by Margaret, Barbara and Gamble. Her family were original settlers of the Morgan Valley and her father ran the William’s and Sons Store. Her mother taught school and was amazing with a needle and thread, making her beautiful clothing and doing needle point.
She has many fond memories of growing up in Morgan. Riding sleds down the North Morgan Hill in the winter, summers spent at Como, and visiting family in Piedmont, Wyoming. Not so good memories of getting car sick on the ride through Weber Canyon though!
After graduation she attended Westminster College in Sugarhouse. While involved with the performing arts she met Bob Snethen whom she married and started her travels from Utah. First to the Army base in Oklahoma and eventually to Portland, Oregon where the settled and had two children, Kimberly Ann and Julie Irene. While there she became involved once again in the community theater and had a great time acting in many of their performances.
After she and Bob divorced, Peggy and the girls moved back to Morgan for a short time and then to Redding, California. There she met Buzz (George) Blaisdell singing in a piano bar and after getting married they spent the next 40 years together. Peggy was a great cook and would fix fabulous family dinners, especially on the holidays. The grandkids have fond memories of Easter Brunch and the egg hunting afterward.
When Buzz retired they moved to Tucson, Arizona. Peggy loved their life there and the friends they made. She learned a lot about Indian artwork and collected beautiful paintings, baskets, jewelry and hand carved stone fetishes to go along with her gorgeous antique furniture.
In 2008 Buzz became ill so they moved to Salt Lake City to be close to Kim and her family. He passed away in 2009 and although Peggy missed Tucson terribly she stayed here where she was able to see her great-grandchildren, Kendahl, Kamryn and Nathan and her granddaughters Allison and Deven regularly. Julie would come frequently from California to visit along with her sons Kyle and Markus; her step son Craig and his wife Lynette along with grandchildren Shelby and Tamara would also travel to Utah. In addition, her step daughter Katherine is in Oregon and has three children Ami, Chris and Aaron.
She passed away peacefully at Legacy House in Ogden on March 16, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Family Services will be held at a later date.
