Our beloved mother, wife grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend returned to our Heavenly father on October 29, 2008 while in her home encircled by her loving family after battling pancreatic cancer.
Phoebe was born in Coalville, Utah on December 12, 1931 to John and Lois Carman. She was raised on the family farm in Echo, Utah. Phoebe was accomplished in many things. She played softball for a well renowned team coached by Bus Adkins, she was an excellent shot with a rifle or a pistol, and she was crowned Summit County Queen for 1943.
Phoebe married Charles Lester Burroughs December 20, 1957 and later solemnized their union in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 17, 1964. They moved to Sunset, Utah to raise their family and helped many friends and neighbors. Phoebe was a wonderful mother and kept order with a loving but stern hand.
Phoebe was known for her beautiful yard. She was very proud of her John Deere lawn tractor and enjoyed mowing many neighborhood lawns in the summer and blowing snow from the neighborhood sidewalks and driveways in the winter with the joy of service as her reward.
She loved to play music on the organ and was honored to play in the Ogden Temple for a short time. She loved everyone and delighted in telling a good story or joke. She will be greatly missed.
Phoebe is survived by her four children: John (Michelle) Burroughs, Houston, TX; Benton (Lisa) Burroughs, South Weber, UT; Tracy (Steven) Taylor, Oakley, UT; Kimberly (Michael) Georgi, Sunset, UT; Grandchildren: Cody, Patrick (Samantha), Stevie (Nathan), Ross, Dallas (Shelia), miss Charli, and Regina; Great-Grandchildren: Cash Georgi, and Tobin Beck; Sister: Mary (Ken) Allison; Brother: John (Brenda) Carmen; Nieces: Helen, Dana, Mitzi and Ginger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother David, and a nephew Cameron.
