Phyllis Carter

August 15, 1926 — March 8, 2010

MORGAN a�" Our loving Mother and Grandmother, Phyllis Carter, passed away March 8, 2010 at McKay Dee Hospital due to cerebral hemorrhage. She was surrounded by her family. Phyllis has returned to her Heavenly Father to renew friendships with family and friends.

Phyllis was born August 15, 1926 in Porterville, Morgan, Utah to Conard Carter and Manilla White Carter. She married Grant J. Carter on March 20, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Phyllis attended Morgan High School graduating in May of 1944. She also attended Brigham Young University.

Phyllis was an active member of the LDS Morgan 5th Ward. She served in various positions in the MIA, Relief Society and Sunday School. She also served as an extraction worker in the Family History Center for over 15 years.

Phyllis loved music, reading, spending time with her family and serving others in many ways. She was such a loving caring person that found so much joy in helping and visiting with others in their time of need.

Phyllis is survived by one son, Rodney (Peggy) Carter; four daughters: Karen Baca, Carolyn (Barry) Christiansen, all of Morgan; Janet (Randy) Tobler of Glenrock , WY; and Joleen Souter of Roy. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; one brother, Ivan (LuDene) Carter of Morgan; and one sister, Mildred (Marr) Fawcett of Layton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the team of Hospice workers and also to McKay Dee Hospital for the wonderful care and support that they gave.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 12 noon in the Morgan 5th Ward Chapel in Porterville, 2700 So. Morgan Valley Drive. Family and friends may call Friday, March 12, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North, Morgan and Saturday at the Porterville church from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, South Morgan Cemetery.
