Sandra Richards Neel

Sandra Richards Neel passed away in Layton, Utah on November 18, 2023. She was born May 29, 1947 in Salt Lake City to Franklin Blaine Richards and Lillie Alberta Knight. Sandra was reared in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1965. She pursued her studies at Brigham Young University until 1967 and later at Weber State University.

In December 1967, Sandra married Albert Norman Zuech, and together they owned and operated the Zuech Family Restaurant, which later became the Glow Room in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and later in Ogden, Utah. They were blessed with two children, Tiffany and Brian. After parting ways with Albert in 1988, Sandra married Glen Allen Neel the same year. In the early years of their marriage, Sandra and Glen were members of the Salt Lake Motorcycle Club and embarked on many adventures exploring various states on their Gold Wing motorcycle.

Sandra was a woman of diverse talents and worked in various fields, including as a restauranteur, an insurance agent, a pre-need funeral counselor, and, for a few years prior to her retirement, as the proprietor of her own carpet and blind company, The Carpet Lady. Her love and talent for cooking earned her the nickname of “Betty Crocker” among her family. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing games with friends and family. She also loved to read, especially as she volunteered to read with elementary children. Her willingness to share her vast knowledge and talents with others was evident throughout her life.

Sandra is survived by her brother, Ron Richards (Donna), her daughter, Tiffany Zuech Egan (Daren), and her three grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, and Ava. She was predeceased by her brothers Kelly Blaine Richards and Kerry Wayne Richards (2017), her husband, Glen Allen Neel (2013), her mother, Lillie Knight Richards (2010), her son, Brian Albert Zuech (1992), and her father, Franklin Blaine Richards (1988).

At Sandra's request, there will be no funeral or other services held on her behalf.
