Susan Marie Crittenden passed away peacefully in her home in Sparks, Nevada on September 4, 2022 from complications of Parkinson’s disease.
Susan was born July 25, 1949 in Coalville, Utah to Clinton Arlynn Larson and Colleen Marie Black. She was the oldest of four children; her brother Russell Kale and sisters Nelda and Mary Ann. Susan married Alan Bruce Crittenden on January 12, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married for fifty-four years at her passing. Susan and Alan, who worked for UPS, lived in Utah, Georgia, Texas, California, Oregon and finally, after thirty-two years, they retired in Sparks, Nevada. Their life together was blessed in so many ways and she will be sorely missed.
Susan was a great and loving mother with many talents and abilities. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held numerous positions throughout her life. She and her husband fulfilled a fulltime mission for the church and served in the Reno Temple presidency. Susan was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker for most of her 73 years, occasionally working outside the home on a few different occasions. She enjoyed multiple hobbies, such as sewing, crocheting, painting and most of all quilting. She filled her home with many beautiful examples of all these talents, and was very outgoing and giving to her friends, family and church members.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kale and grandchildren Adelaide Crittenden and Zachary Barker. She is survived by her sisters Nelda (Vaughn) Staples and Mary Ann (Richard) Monson, husband Alan, sons Eric A. (Stephanie Askin) Crittenden, Ian J. (Deborah Cole) Crittenden and Jordan A. Crittenden, and daughters Laura (Corbett) Lambdin, Megan (Russell) Stewart and Sara (Christopher) Barker. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren.
