Trudy Smith

June 20, 1960 — April 10, 2011

Trudy Kay Ukena Smith passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 10, 2011, after a long battle with diabetes. She was born, the youngest of three children, to Dawson and Bonnie Ukena. She grew up in South Weber and graduated from Clearfield High School.

Trudy married Daniel Smith on July 11, 1980 in Milton, Morgan, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized the following year in the Ogden LDS Temple.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and a great example to all of her family and friends. She was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions, her favorite being in the Primary and Young Women's programs. She worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for various doctors in the Ogden area. She has served as President of the Morgan Chapter of the Utah Homemakers Association, and also as State Historian for the Utah Homemakers Association.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Daniel of Peterson; her two children, Wes (Melissa) of North Ogden; and Amanda (Steve) Welch of Ogden; her three grandchildren whom she adored: Kyler, Kaydon and Kolton Welch: her sister Terry Ukena of Roy; and her brother Nick Ukena of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 45 W. 200 N. Morgan, Utah. A short family service will follow.

Interment in the Milton Cemetery.
