HENEFER a�" Vera Keyes Dawson, 86, died Tuesday, Sept 14, 2010 in Ogden, Utah.
She was born Dec. 30, 1923 in Layton, Utah to William Mitchell Keyes and Mary Ann "Mamie" Jaques Keyes.
On Sept. 26, 1945 she married Donald Billy Dawson. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Vera worked at Hill Air Force Base during World War II and was later the Postmistress in both Henefer and Echo for a number of years.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Presidency of the Relief Society and working in the MIA and primary. She and Donald served in the Ogden LDS Temple for many years. She loved the outdoors, especially camping with her grandchildren and was an accomplished quilter and seamstress.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Keith (Peggy) and Sheryl (Dekk), four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Bud Keyes; and one sister, Effie Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Henefer Church. Friends and family may call at the church Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Henefer Cemetery.
