Walter Breshears

March 6, 1936 — April 29, 2021

Morgan

Our Loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on April 29, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 6, 1936 to Windell Merle Breshears and Elizabeth Pauline Shafer in Granger, Utah.

Dad started working at a very young age delivering newspapers before school. He graduated from Cyprus High School in 1954. He then attended technical college to learn the skills of a carpenter. He had a love working with his hands and he could build anything you asked him to. He worked in construction before spending the rest of his career at Kennecott Copper Mine. He was so proud to have owned and operated Oakeson DW Floral for 14 years with his sweetheart. He was a very hard worker and instilled that in his family.

Dad is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He met mom, and the love of his life, on a blind date and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 7, 1957.

Dad loved his family above anything else. He loved being with them whether through hunting, fishing, boating, or camping. Dad had a gruff exterior but he had a kind and giving heart. We always knew he loved us and would do anything for us. He had a great love for baseball and he influenced many through his coaching. He was also an avid fan of the Utah Jazz.

Dad is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Donna Lee Carpenter. His children Scott (Laura) Breshears; Bruce (Marsha) Breshears; Jana (Richard) Brown; Blaine (Shasta) Breshears. He has 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in  death by his parents, brother Merle, sister Doris, daughter-in-law Julie, and grandson Skyler.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to Lissa Carter and Heather Kelly at Intermountain Healthcare and Hospice.
