Wendy Rich

Coalville - Wendy Kay Hammond Rich, 51, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2012. She was born on March 29, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wayne Hammond and Kay Tyler. Wendy married Jesse Rich on June 12, 1997 in Elko, Nevada.

Wendy did everything from seismology to waitressing. She was a single mother for many years and did the best she could. She was the most stubborn, independent woman you could ever know but she would give you the shirt off her back no matter how down and out she was. She was always there for anyone, no matter what.

Wendy is preceded in death by her children: Amanda, Mary, and Billy Mills; her husband Jesse Rich; father Wayne Hammond; step-brothers: Nathan Hampton, Cory Hammond and Vance (Stephen) Hampton; grandmothers: Opal Miller and Leola Ross; brother-in-law Will Gines; stepfather Wayne (Tex) Tyler; and stepmother Vicki Hammond.

She is survived by her furry companion, Izzy; mother Kay Tyler, Kearns; two sisters: Tamerha (Ronald) Maxwell, Parowan, and Shelly Gines, Woodland; stepbrothers: Jake Hampton, Salt Lake, Richard Hammond, Salt Lake, and Gilbert Hammond, Salt Lake; stepdaughter Gena (Tony) Ferlan, Montana. She has two grandchildren, four nephews, three nieces, six great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary in Coalville, 268 S. Main. A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 4 from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.

Interment at Coalville City Cemetery.
