Wilbur Escuriex

August 8, 1930 — October 6, 2009

SUNSET, UTAH a" Wilbur Joseph Escuriex, 79, passed away on October 6, 2009, of cancer. He was born on August 8, 1930, in Franklin, Louisiana, to Alphonse Minus and Lillian Frederick Escuriex. He attended high school in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Frenchy married Lorena Vincent and they had four children: Mitchell, David, Linda and Gary. They were later divorced. In 1980, Frenchy married Peggy Jensen and they had one son Jamie.

Frenchy was a welder by trade and worked construction for years before he found his true calling, teaching welding to the students at the Clearfield Job Corps Center. He worked there for almost 20 years and loved teaching young people, not only how to weld, but how to be better people.

Frenchy loved people. He loved to meet and interact with people and show everyone he knew his "magic tricks." All the kids loved to listen to Frenchy play his harmonica at all the "family" functions.

Being from Louisiana, Frenchy knew how to cook that "Cajun" food. His gumbo was the best around, but the cooking that he was best known for was his peanut brittle. He made peanut brittle every Christmas season and gave it to all the family members as well as the people he worked with. Everyone always said that if you ever tasted Frenchy's peanut brittle they you would never buy it again from the store.

Frenchy is survived by his wife, Peggy, children: Mitchell (Carol), David (Brenda), Linda Vera (Michael), Gary and Jamie.

Frenchy was preceded in death by his parents, Minus and Lillian Escuriex and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Lorene Jensen.

Special thanks to Legacy Health Care for all the tender and loving service.
